Research INTERESTS
My research interests include bioenergy, the environment, public policy, and intellectual property rights, including the anticommons hypothesis. Specifically, the theoretical modelling of innovation using Bayesian Updating and empirical tests using biofuels patent data.
The image to the left illustrates the Tragedy of the Anticommons: Imagine a plot of land divided into 100+ 1 inch squares, each owned by a different person. How many people would you need to contact and negotiate with to get to your plot?
